Every snowboarder has that one ride that stays with them forever—the day when everything clicks, when the mountain feels alive, and when the sport reminds you why you fell in love with it in the first place. For Jackson, a longtime member of the Joyride Snowboards community, that day came last February in the Wasatch backcountry.
Jackson had been riding for years, but he’d never tackled a true big-mountain line. “I’ve always been more of a park guy,” he admits. “Rails, jumps, that’s my comfort zone. But last winter I promised myself I’d push past my limits.”
With a fresh dump of overnight snow and clear blue skies, the timing couldn’t have been better. Jackson and a couple of friends hiked up to a ridge line that locals call “The Spine”—a steep, natural run carved by years of wind and weather.
“I’ll be honest, standing at the top, I was nervous,” Jackson said. “But the second I dropped in, all of that disappeared. The board felt like it was reading the mountain for me—every turn, every carve, just locked in. Halfway down, I realized I wasn’t thinking anymore. I was just riding.”
The line ended with a natural kicker that launched Jackson into one of the cleanest back 3’s he’d ever landed. His friends erupted in cheers from below. That moment, he says, was the highlight of his entire season.
“Snowboarding is all about those days—the ones you never forget,” Jackson told us. “And the right gear makes all the difference. My Joyride [insert board model here] was rock solid the whole way. I felt like I had complete control even in deep snow.”
Stories like Jackson’s are what keep us inspired at Joyride Snowboards. They remind us that snowboarding isn’t just about gear—it’s about adventure, courage, and the moments you carry with you long after the snow melts.
